On January 16, 2010, the Black Death had returned to haunt us once more. Not as much as we had wanted but music enthusiasts of all ages, gathered outside the House of Blues in Hollywood in wait. Thus the birth of a new beginning had commenced itself, giving us the Polish remains of Behemoth.
The night had rolled off to a good start, opener Lighting Swords of Death literally tearing it up from the inside as heavy metal heads stared on in amusement bobbing their heads to the beat of the music. The band themselves giving it all they got as bassist Reverend Black stole the show. Dishing out tons of energy that overflowed right into the audience as the crowd goers pushed and shoved their way in the midst’s of the mosh pit.
Septic Flesh’s Spiros Antoniou known otherwise as “Seth” had given just as much as effort if not more, as Lighting Swords of Death’s bassist had done. But his talents alone had taken the night away. Grasping hold of his beloved bass he one handily performed while still growling out the harsh attitude that was buried within. Spectic Flesh’s stage presence setting off an instant reaction of approval.
Before leaving the stage, Seth had announced “Are you ready for Behemoth?” as the crowd of on lookers cheered with remorse. Now that two bands had drawn their sets to a closing point, it was time for Behemoth to shine on their skillful talents. Performing a solid set comprising of the good, the bad, and the weird, Behemoth’s front man Nergal along with the rest of the group, just stood in deep stare as the crowd had done the same adding on the overwhelming cheers and screams.
After the intro had settled each of the frozen members got in position and tore it down. Expressing such hits as; “Demigod”, “Conquer All”, and “Slaves Shall Serve”, by also adding a great drum solo by drummer Robert or “Inferno”. Bassist Tomasz Wróblewski or “Orion” spat out blood amongst the crowd while vocalist/guitarist Nergal was tearing up pieces of the holy bible and tossing them everywhere in sight. Amongst the Behemoth flock was not only adults of all sorts and sizes but kids as well, as little Lizzy (age
stood in awe as she witnessed her all time favorite band – having been a fan since the age of four.
So no matter how old or what size you’ll find yourself, Behemoth’s night of reign, will forever be a night of forsake misfortunes, that will have done nothing more than sacrifice the lives of the unforgiving.
