My bass player in Gravehill, Corpsemolester, likes to talk shit to me for covering bands and releases that “no one cares about”. He even said I should review limited edition flexi discs, or some shit to that effect. Well here ya go fucker! hahahaha. And while he is masturbating while wearing his Ghost shirt, over the last ugly hooker he coaxed into his trailer and killed, I will listen to this ugly slab of rotten death metal again! Formed in 2008 over the wastelands of Copenhagen, Denmark, Undergang has remained near the top of the old school death metal food chain the last few years. They might massacre some of the heaviest and sickest death metal to come out since the days of the Grave demos. They have a Grave influence that also goes into old Bolt Thrower. They have a Swedish sound at times, but the guitars are down tuned to Z- Minor and the low growls are puked in a savage way that reminds me of Jorgen Sandstrom on those putrid Grave demos from the old days. There is only one song on here,”Haevntorst”, I mean it IS flex after all. haha. True Undergang maniacs might remember this killer song from their live sets and also from the compilation tape “Voices of Death” put out by Baphometal Productions in 2010. But this song is a crushing banger that is 6 minutes of pure doomy, savage death metal fury. The pace starts slow and creepy, then gets to a mid tempo pummeling. It gets a bit faster for a bit, but then slows it down again for the all out doomy and gloom finale. FUCK YEAH! BRAVO MOTHERFUCKERS! This rules as does all of Undergang’s stuff. If you are a collector nerd, you will be delighted by the fact that this flexi is also SQUARE SHAPED! YEAH! IN YOUR FACE CORPSIE! I will review some more Undergang releases, including their 2nd album, in the coming weeks. This is sold out, but keep an eye out for it. These things still pop up. Ebay possibly? hehe.

Matt at Dark Descent Records just mentioned to me that he has 20 copies of this collectable left inhis arsenal. This was a joint release between DD and Me Sacto Un Ojo Records. Go to:

I found the song on their Myspace page as well, another good pick-good heavy song, that sounds like it came out of the 90’s!
In re-reading Gerald McDermott’s Seeing God: Jonathan Edwards and Spiritual Discernment’, a passage arose that alrpalels the overall message of the post. One of the manifestations of our love toward God will be a joyful hope when contemplating our future glory. Sadly, we do this too infrequently. We should not grieve as others who have no hope, especially when we have confidence in the salvation of the deceased. If nothing else, perhaps a bit more envy would be understood in light of the glory they now enjoy and that awaits us.
