Ohhhhh yeahhhhh! My brothers from another Mother…… The mighty WITCHAVEN! Let me just state, for the record, that YES, I’m very good pals with these guys! If I could, I would be at every show they play (which is actually ALL THE TIME!) But THAT alone does not influence the fact that I think this band is awesome! I have plenty of friends that play in bands I don’t like. I have some friends that play in some amazing bands. I’m just not the type to cover something for THAT reason alone. In the end, it HAS to be killer music! And Witchaven play KILLER music. I did make friends with Henry right before I ever heard them play a note. I was working back stage at a venue they were playing at, opening for Destruction. I then witnessed one of the best shows I had ever seen. They are, BY FAR, my favorite new era thrash band that came out of the explosion in the mid to late 2000s here in California. They are also the hardest working band around here, and pretty much a D.I.Y. run band.
This 7 inch was put out by our friend Brain over at Morbid Reality Records. It has 3 songs on it. 2 new songs “Supermax” and “Product of Imprisonment”, and the old classic “Skinned Alive” from the great “Black Thrash Assault” demo. These fuckers have really nailed the “black thrash” sound DOWN! It is really all over the place with time changes and riffs. The patterns can change up with no notice and out of nowhere. But the band do it so well, it is scary. I have told Henry that this line up that he has here with Erik, Lerby and Jorge is the best he has ever had in Witchaven and I feel that the band has really come together these days. There are bad ass thrashing parts that would fit on any classic thrash album. There are skanky d-beat parts that would make any crust fan proud. And there are some black metal parts that sound just as grim and cold as any old Immortal album. THIS is what Witchaven blends together to make the awesome black thrash that they do so well. The boys can play too!
I’m not ashamed at all to say that these guys might just be some of the best players around! Try and find better rippers than these guys! I dare you! Listen to the drums pound, the bass float around the rest of the music, the leads scorch the earth, the riffs shred the soul, the vocals pierce the ears. Go to You Tube as well! Some good pals of the band have made all kinds of cool videos for Witchaven. Including vids for all 3 of these songs on there. Just type in Witchaven and the song title and they will come up. Check out the “official videos” and see what the boys have to say. They come with a message as well. TALENT, BALLS AND A BRAIN! THESE GUYS ARE DANGEROUS! Brain is old school and underground, so you have to either snail mail him or traditional email him. But I will also leave the link to the Witchaven facebook. GET THIS BEFORE IT SELLS OUT! THE ALL BLACK EDITION IS AWESOME!

Pretty good stuff, thanks for pointing these guys out. It would be awesome though if they had somewhere to actually download this. I couldn’t find anywhere and I really don’t care for listening to stuff off of youtube all of the time.
Yo C.D., be a sport and buy the vinyl!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA. I’m sure you don’t have a record player if you are asking for a download link. But yeah, you can get the “Terrorstorm” CD through here at Metal Maniacs. Go to the Metal Hit site and they have it as a limited CD or a download. That album is awesome. I reviewed it a while back. If you like these songs. You will dig that full length. I will speak with the band to see if they will be getting these songs on this 7 inch available for download in the future.
No, I don’t have vinyl, so MP3 is the preferred format or a streaming music site (Preferably either RDIO, Slacker or Emusic) BUT after posting that comment I found the “Terrorstorm” album on RDIO and am listening to it now. Again, thanks for pointing this out, I am enjoying a lot of the stuff you’ve been pointing out on here that I can find!

Thanks-I’m now looking for a lot of the stuff that you’ve been recommending. Are you going to do another year end list for 2011? You did one, either last year or the year before and I found a couple of goodies that way.
I decided not to do a list this year man, too much shit to cover. You can honestly find all the stuff that would have a[[eared on my “list” in this past year’s articles. Just go through my stuff from Jan 2011 to now.
Does anyone know if this record has been released?
